Bhutan has four distinct seasons, each offering a different experience:

• Autumn (September–November): Clear views, crisp air, and festival season (Thimphu Tshechu, Punakha Drubchen). Considered the best overall time.

Indian nationals do not require a visa to enter Bhutan but do need a valid passport or voter ID. Entry by air is via Paro International Airport (from Delhi, Kolkata, Bagdogra, Guwahati, etc.).

Land entry is possible through the following border towns:

• Phuentsholing (via West Bengal, nearest to Bagdogra)
• Gelephu (via Assam, nearest to Guwahati)
• Samdrup Jongkhar (via Assam)

Transfers from Indian border towns to Thimphu can take several hours (4–6 hours from Phuentsholing).
